The "ABC"s of Prayer. "M" is for MERCY

MERCY is unmerited favor demonstrated by compassion and forgiveness. Our ability to even approach the throne room of God to pray is rooted in the mercy that was extended to us through the redemptive work of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Mercy Seat of the Old Testament is a type of Christ's atoning work. As it is worded in Hebrews chapter 9 : "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." The next time we come "boldy unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy," (Hebrews 4:16) let us be eternally thankful for the compassion, forgiveness and unmerited favor extended to each one of us at the mercy seat of Calvary!

Third time I've read your post Brian. Your concept of unmerited favor is a phrase I've never heard before. I like it and what in conjures up. Nice work.

Awesome to consider isn't it ? We can't earn it, don't deserve it, but God by His love and grace extends salvation to "whosoever will" !!
